Quality Assurance & Safety
LIMA operates its own comprehensive Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001/1994 standards — backed by a full safety department, loss prevention program and first aid readiness on every site.
Quality Control Department
A comprehensive Quality Management System
LIMA operates its own comprehensive Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001/1994 standards.
The Quality Control Department (QCD) is responsible for overseeing all quality aspects of construction, maintenance, and operational activities across all projects and plants.
The Quality Control Department functions under the leadership of the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), who reports directly to the Managing Director.
LIMA’s Quality Control System places strong emphasis on monitoring and verifying all materials used in plant construction, operation, and maintenance to ensure that every activity meets the required quality standards and project specifications.
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for:
- Reviewing plant documentation related to quality control during construction and maintenance activities
- Supervising the preparation and maintenance of construction and maintenance control records
- Ensuring that all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated and certified
General Safety Procedure
All personnel must immediately give an oral report to the Safety Engineer in the event of any of the following:
Reportable events
- Fatal injuries
- Injuries requiring medical attention
- Significant property or equipment damage
- Any damage, regardless of amount, to LIMA’s plant, property, or equipment
- Fires or fire-related incidents
Each initial oral report must be followed by a written report detailing the circumstances of the incident, corrective actions taken, and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Investigation & emergencies
Accident investigations will be conducted to establish facts, not faults, with the primary goal of preventing similar incidents in the future.
Following an investigation, the Safety Engineer and Company Nurse will develop or update emergency procedures for handling serious accidents or injuries. These procedures define the specific actions and information required from all personnel during emergencies.
It is the responsibility of every employee to be fully familiar with and adhere to LIMA’s emergency and safety procedures.
LIMA Safety Policy Plan
The management of LIMA shall ensure the following information is clearly posted at all work sites:
First Aid Custodian
The name of the person responsible for the first aid cabinet.
Designated Hospital
The hospital to which any injured person requiring medical treatment should be sent.
Medical Contact
The contact number of the first aid attendant or doctor employed by LIMA.
Emergency Number
The emergency telephone number to be called for immediate assistance.
Site injury register
A site register shall be maintained by the first aid attendant, documenting all injuries treated on site.
Qualified nurse on larger sites
For locations where more than 50 persons are employed, or within a 15-kilometer radius, first aid facilities shall be managed by a qualified nurse who is familiar with first aid requirements and exclusively assigned to medical duties.
Trained first aiders on smaller sites
On smaller sites, those responsible for first aid supplies must have recent training in first aid procedures to ensure proper care in case of emergencies.

Loss Prevention Policy
LIMA maintains a rigorous loss prevention program to prevent human distress and minimize financial loss.
Every employee who supervises or directs the work of others shall make every effort to ensure the safety of each employee under their supervision. Additionally, supervisors are accountable for the protection of equipment and property within their areas of responsibility.
The Safety Department at LIMA
The Safety Department at LIMA is led by the Safety Manager, who coordinates all company-wide safety activities. Senior Safety Engineers work closely to maintain and continuously improve safety standards across all LIMA group branches.
Safety Officers, employed full-time on site, support supervisors in implementing the safety program. They organize safety meetings at all levels, oversee site planning, conduct daily inspections, and collaborate with the Safety Department to address both local needs and updates to safety procedures.
First Aid
First Aid is the immediate care provided to an injured or seriously ill person on-site before professional medical help can be obtained. Management is responsible for ensuring that proper first aid facilities are available to all employees at every job site.
First aid supplies must be maintained in a dedicated cabinet, managed by a trained first aid attendant who ensures it is fully stocked at all times. Additionally, a stretcher must be available on every site to handle emergencies efficiently.
